If you follow me on Insta Stories (@samanthaseries), you'll remember that earlier this month, I went to the brand launch for Nouveau Canada. I also had the opportunity to try the LVL lash lift treatment which I'm loving and I which wrote about in full detail about below.
Nouveau Canada is a brand that hails from the UK where it is called Nouveau Lashes. They specialize in treatments such as LVL and eyelash extensions. They also offer training for technicians as well as a line of lash and brow products. Their products and their treatments are vegan!
My LVL Experience
I have extremely straight lashes, and I would never leave the house without at least curling them - even on no makeup days. Not only are my lashes very straight, but they are also downward pointing. Sigh. Even when curling them and applying mascara, I would find the curl to lessen unless I used a waterproof formula. I've been curious about trying LVL ever since I saw Lisa Eldridge make a video about it with Nouveau Lashes 5 years ago!
Before the treatment: I had to go in a couple of days earlier for a patch test to make sure I don't react to any of the product they use for LVL. They also give some info on what to do before the treatment, such as showing up with no eye makeup and not to wear contact lenses!
The LVL treatment lasts about 45 minutes. It's not uncomfortable, but I did find myself getting a bit restless laying there with my eyes closed for so long. During the 45 minutes they curl your lashes, tint them darker, as well as give a nice hand massage. Ah... bliss. The technician was very gentle and professional, and explained the different steps she was doing throughout the treatment.
LVL curls the lashes at the root and makes your lashes appear longer and thicker. I absolutely love the results two weeks in. There are many days I don't even bother with mascara because my lashes already look good when I wake up, but when I wear mascara they really stand out! The results are meant to last between 6-8 weeks.
While doing my LVL treatment, the technician also worked on my (beastly) brows. Since my eyes were closed I couldn't see what she was doing, but apparently she was doing some interesting brow mapping/designing with tools. She waxed my brows into shape and I'm very happy with how they look. I find the hairs to grow in a bit slower after waxing than threading.
If you are interested in getting LVL, I recommend you do some research first, and if you have any other questions about my experience, you can ask me! Just leave it in the comments below or email me.
I had a great experience at the Nouveau Canada brand launch and with the LVL treatment. I'm new to this whole blogger event thing - but I'm so happy to have seen one of my blogger friends Manon there who got the eyelash extensions and wrote about her experience with that on her blog.
