For those who don't know Marcelle, it's a Canadian drugstore brand. Here's what you need to know:
- Mid-range priced products (for drugstore)
- They do skincare and makeup.
- Marcelle have a sister brand called Annabelle, which is mostly makeup, and is basically marketed more to a younger demographic.
- Both Marcelle and Annabelle are sold at the warehouse sale.
I've been going to these Marcelle warehouse sales for years now, and I've tried a lot of their products. I feel like I now know what's good from Marcelle and what's not that good. I'm thinking of making a more comprehensive blog post on the Best of Marcelle (and Annabelle).
I've been greatly lacking in the skincare department, as all my products seem to have run out at the same time.... back in May. This haul was really to replenish some key skincare items.
Starting with the repurchases: I had to get the Marcelle Bi-Phase Makeup Remover. It removes waterproof makeup so easily and gently. Compared to other makeup removers I've used before, this Marcelle one is a winner. I forgot to take a clear photo of this, so sorry about that!
Another thing I repurchased is the Ultra Gentle Moisturizing Cream, which I keep as a day moisturizer at my boyfriend's. As far as a basic day cream goes, this one works and feels great.
One of the new things I picked up is a new toner, called the Tonifying Lotion, which I like to use in the mornings right after I wake up. It makes my skin feel so fresh, and gets me to feel less groggy.
Another new thing that I picked up is the Marcelle LumiPower. This is a new item I have never tried before, but the fact that it can be used under the eyes as well as the face intrigued me, especially since I don't currently have an eye cream. The texture feels really nice, light, and moisturizing. I will do a more in-depth post on this after I have used it a while.
I also got the Marcelle Micellar Solution, which I've used a few times now and I'm quite happy with it. It removes non-waterproof makeup effortlessly, and it comes in that cool packaging where you press the cotton pad down on the dispenser. Awesome.
Each makeup item cost $2.50 CAD which is an insane deal. This is where I like to take advantage and stock up on eyebrow pencils, because Marcelle and Annabelle do eyebrow products really well.
I got the Annabelle Skinny Brow Liner which is just as good as Anastasia's Brow Wiz. The only downside is the brush, which is really a useless little comb. I use my own spooly to brush the product out. I got two colours, Universal Medium, and Universal Dark just to have some variety.
I also got the Annabelle Brow Show, which is a tinted eyebrow gel. It also came with a free pair of tweezers, which are actually really good. Both together cost $2.50 (!!!!)
So there's my haul. I really do love the simplicity and effectiveness of some of Marcelle's skincare. Again, I am thinking of making a "Best Of" post for Marcelle since they have some real gems. Highly recommend to give the brand a try if you are Canadian, or if you happen to find yourself in a Canadian drugstore!
