Going through what I got in the August 2016 TopBox.
This is the second TopBox I've received. TopBox is a Canadian beauty box subscription which runs at $12/mo, including shipping. There are typically 4 products in each box. If you saw my blog post from last month's TopBox, you will have seen that the products came in a cardboard cylinder packaging. For this month, I opted out of that and the products came in a bag, which is less bulky.
Novex Deep Conditioning Hair Mask
| This one claims to be the best selling hair mask in Brazil. It is a deep conditioning mask with argan oil, meant to make hair shiny, and meant to treat frizziness and split ends. I'm generally quite uninterested in hair masks as I have healthy hair with no issues of frizziness or dullness. I'll pass this one to a friend.
Elizabeth Arden Skin Illuminating Pads
| These are exfoliating peel pads with glycolic acid. While I don't think I would go out and buy these (I prefer Dennis Gross) these are quite nice to have this week since I've run out of my Dennis Gross ones and my skin is looking lacklustre. To make these last longer, I've actually cut the pad I use in half to use another time.
NYX Butter Gloss in Raspberry Tart
| I've never seen this one before in the NYX stand, but I was immediately drawn to the colour. In the tube, it seems intensely purple, but on the lips, the colour is "diluted" and ends up becoming a lovely dark raspberry colour. It looks fun and sophisticated at the same time.
Smashbox Pore Minimizing Primer
| This is the first time I try a pore filling primer. I used this around the sides of my nose and I really liked how my foundation felt and looked after - so smooth! I have another sample of primer from Smashbox the same size (7 ml) and a little really goes a long way.
Frankly, the hair mask didn't excite me, but then again, hair products rarely do. While this isn't really an exciting box, I think that the NYX Butter Gloss and the Smashbox primer made up for the value of the box, and they are the main things that I'm happy with.
