July Ipsy Bag 2014

3 Hits, 2 "mehs". I don't want to call them "misses" because that would be too harsh.

The products this month came in a cute cloth bag with a multicolour chevron pattern. Inside the bag were:

A pair of tweezers from Crown brush. I used it to pluck two stray eyebrow hairs and they seemed to work okay. I'm always happy to receive a tool of some sort in my bag like tweezers or a brush. Also, my regular tweezers always seem to go missing - it's handy to have a second pair lying about.

Now, the lip balm by Lulu Blossom is one of the "mehs" in the bag this month. I'm not a fan of the texture; it's quite waxy. Once you try applying it, it warms up a bit and applies smoother. The scent is described as, "Lush, fragrant sweet raspberry, blackberry & lemon" but to me it smells a little bit too sweet. I don't smell lemon at all. But I'll still use it up, it's not a bad lip balm. Look at me nit picking!

I quite like the colour of this 2-in-1 Shadow Liner by Jelly Pong Pong Cosmetics. How cute is that name by the way? Jelly Pong Pong. The colour of the liner is a warm shimmery brown. You can't go wrong with that! I reckon this would be so nice smudged out around the eyes, especially for any blue or green eyed gals.

I've never had a gel manicure before. Heck, I've never gone somewhere to get my nails done before. I'm excited to try this Gel Effect Nail Lacquer by Aurora, as it claims, "Like gel polish, it stays shiny and durable for up to 2 weeks." That's a bold claim, sista. I'll give it a try and report back. I'm ok with the colour; I'm not super into pink nails, but this shade seems quite nice and summery.

Finally, the last product is the other "meh" product: Beachy Salt Spray by Coolway. Unfortunately, this type of product does not work for me. Most hair products do not work for me. I have very straight, heavy & thick hair. Ain't no spray gonna make it look nice and beachy (weh). I guess I'll still use it up; maybe it will surprise me.
