Ever since I started dyeing my hair last December, I've been a lot more interested in hair products. My hair is still in good condition for being bleached and coloured, but I find it to be a struggle to brush my hair after washing it. It gets so incredibly tangled. Sometimes I would let my usual hair conditioner sit in for a bit longer, and that would maybe help a bit. But even then, my hair would still be difficult to brush, and it would dry feeling a bit ...dry? For lack of a better word.
So I checked out the hair mask selection at the drugstore, and settled on this Garnier Whole Blends Honey Treasures Repairing Rinse Out Mask. I think I've seen Estee Lalonde talk about this before on her Instagram Stories, so that may have also convinced me to get this.
The mask contains royal jelly, honey, propolis, and argan oil. Although the royal jelly is pretty far down the ingredient list, at third to last. It claims to Repair, Strengthen and Protect hair. The mask is also paraben-free.
I let the mask soak in my hair for approximately 3 minutes in the shower, whilst I washed my body. I don't have a watch in the shower, so washing my body is the approximate time frame I have for leaving the mask in. After rinsing the mask out, the effects were immediate. I was able to actually finger comb the tangles out of my hair in the shower! My hair felt incredibly silky. Brushing my hair was a breeze.
When my hair dried, it did not feel weighed down or oily at all. It definitely felt softer and more manageable, and I was also so pleased that my hair still smelled like honey. I'm now using this mask about once a week, and it's going strong. I would recommend this mask if you are struggling with knotted hair, or if you dye your hair, or if you regularly use heat styling.
Have you ever used a hair mask? Which one did you like?
