If you follow me on Instagram and have seen my Insta Stories, you'll know that I go to the gym fairly often. I've definitely upped my gym game this year, going about 4x a week with one of those times being a Judo conditioning class. I absolutely love this Judo class, and it's put a lot more focus on working my lower body. Squats, jumping lunges, burpees-combined-with-Judo-moves, and much more has me seeing my physique really change and get more toned. I am surprised at how much my body has changed and what I am able to do with it... would you believe I am able to do squats while lifting another girl on my back? I wouldn't believe it if you told me that a couple of months ago, but hey, thats exactly what I did this week! Frankly, I'm impressed with myself, hah.
Since I've built so much more muscle mass in my lower body, I'm suddenly unable to fit into my jeans anymore. I spent an entire hour one morning, fruitlessly trying on jeans and then peeling them off frustrated. The only things I fit are my black jeans and leggings. Even my joggers were tight! And honestly, I think that as soon as I wash my black jeans, they will become too tight lol. I came to the realization that I have no other types of pants to wear and that my wardrobe is in need of some pants diversity.
When I go to work, I wear my black jeans. And when I do anything else, I wear leggings. I love leggings, but they are kind of boring and totes inappropes for certain situations (e.g. if you are a United Airlines pass rider lmao. Honestly though, I totally side with them.)
I don't know what will happen with my physique and current build once my Judo classes are over. Maybe I will continue to train my lower body on my own, and maybe I will lose some of the muscle mass. I don't know! So before investing in a new pair of jeans, I thought it would be better to get some other types of pants that I can wear at either size. I want some pants that are more forgiving than jeans, that aren't tight on my legs, and that can be worn in different situations.
There are so many cute trouser options at Zara, so most of my choices below are from there! In fact, I'm really digging Zara's entire Spring collection. Just click on the photos below and they will bring you to the product page.
