Picking my beauty favourites from 2016 was fairly easy. I chose products that I reached for on a daily basis without second thought - products that are comfortable and that I can trust to work in different situations, whether that be groggily applying makeup in the mornings or getting ready for an evening out.
L'Oréal Pro Glow Foundation | I picked this up in the summer and have been using it ever since. And I sometimes mix it with my Infallible Pro Matte foundation to make it more long-lasting. I apply this with a sponge and while it's not full coverage, it does a good job of just evening out my skin and making it look nicer. The main reasons I like this is because it feels so comfortable on my skin and because it makes my skin look radiant and natural.
Revlon Ultra HD Lipcolour | I have this in two shades, but the one I've been wearing all year is the shade "HD Seduction", a classic nude. I really love the formula of these lip products. They are velvety and comfortable, and they wear down gracefully into a stain. I've been wearing this product a lot this year because I like the colour, it is so easy to maintain and it matches with everything.
BareMinerals Original Skin Foundation | Review | I never thought I would love a powder foundation, but hey-ho, this came along and just stunned me. I have normal-dry skin, and was a bit hesitant to put powder all over my face, but this doesn't make my skin look dry or powdery at all. I always set it with a face mist (as I do every time I do my makeup) and that ensures no powdery-ness. My skin always looks good when I wear this.
Benefit Cosmetics Dandelion blush | I got this in the little travel-size box version because who can finish the whole thing? The colour is a light, peachy, petal pink, suited more for those with lighter skin tones. It has a softer texture than other blushes, but it applies nicely. The colour is really light but it really brightens up the face, and I've been using it so much that there's a good dent in it.
Becca x Jaclyn Hill Palette | Review | Specifically, I've been loving using the blush Pamplemousse. The other blushes are gorgeous too, and I also use them, but I find I've been using Pamplemousse way more than the others. It looks like a scary bright pink, but it gives such a fresh flush to the cheeks without looking clownish. Out of the highlighters in this palette, I'm really liking Champagne Pop!
IT Cosmetics Naturally Pretty Eyeshadow Palette | I didn't wear much eyeshadow in 2016 but I still had to mention this palette. This is something I've actually been using since last Spring, but it hasn't made an appearance on my blog (I'm a blogger fail) until now. I will put out a whole post dedicated to swatches and a full review of this product since I hardly ever hear anyone talk about this! And it is really such a gorgeous palette that deserves some recognition. It has beautiful colours and a lovely eyeshadow texture. I hope to try more from IT Cosmetics this year because so far I'm liking them!
Marcelle Makeup Remover | Simply the best makeup remover I've used yet. I used to never wear waterproof mascara because I never found something that removed it gently enough (I always ended up losing eyelashes). But this formula is so gentle and effective, that I am using waterproof eye products more.
Origins Skin Re-Texturizing Mask | This is the main mask I've been using consistently since I got it last Spring. It is has little jojoba beads that I like to rub onto my skin while applying and rinsing, and that gently exfoliates. This is a clay mask, made with rose clay, so it is very soothing. My skin is always brighter, calmer and smoother after using this, and I think it's a lovely, effective mask to use on the regular.
