This highlighter caught my eye one day at Shoppers, which is a bit odd since I have never tried anything by Quo before. (Quo is a Canadian cosmetics brand sold at Shoppers)
When I swatched the highlighter, it immediately reminded me of the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector, which I currently use in the shade Opal. The Quo highlighter and the Becca highlighter are very similar in texture and how they apply - in colour, the Becca highlighter is a bit warmer, whereas the Quo one is more of a brighter pearly effect. Since they are not the same colour, I am hesitant to call this product a dupe, but the fineness of shimmer and formulas are very close.
The packaging is what makes this unique: It's a highlighter and a brush at the same time. Huh? I've never seen anything like it before but the brush is actually nice, dense and soft. It's the perfect shape to apply liquid highlighter and I kind of really like it.
This highlighter imparts a lovely soft glow, nothing too "in-your-face" or glittery. I even like to use this on no makeup days, just straight over my moisturizer on the tops of my cheeks to bring a little light. The highlighter cost about 12 dollars CAD for 5 ml of product (but also a brush sooo...). A little goes a long way, and it's easy to control how much you dispense with the pump. My one concern is what to do with the brush when this runs out? I suppose I shall just continue to use it with an empty handle, which seems a little silly. But it's also silly to throw out the top half. Hmm. I just can't bring myself to throw out the actual brush because it's a damn fine brush for liquid highlighter.
I have a question for Canadian gals: Have you tried Quo products before and if yes, which do you recommend?
