Last year, I reviewed two Life Brand Face Masks. Surprisingly, that post has become one of my most popular posts! I figured I may as well continue reviewing the Life Brand Face Masks because I am a total mask junkie and also because there are hardly any reviews on them online.
For those who are unfamiliar with Life Brand, it's the brand of a Canadian drugstore called Shopper's Drug Mart. They have a large display with all kind of masks. The masks are a total bargain at 3 for $5 CAD, and most packets are good for a few uses.
Purifying Face Mask with Jasmine & Cactus Flower Extract
Claims: Brightens and cleanses the skin.
The mask inside is a clear, thick, syrupy liquid. Once applied, it felt quite cooling on the skin. 15-20 minutes later, the mask had completely dried, so I picked at a corner by my jaw and began to peel off the mask. To my surprise, this one peeled off very gently, unlike my last experience with a peel-off mask (which was the Boscia Luminizing Black Mask). I then splashed my skin with some water to completely remove any pieces still stuck. I suppose my skin looked a bit brighter as the peel removed some dull and dead skin... but I mainly noticed that my skin felt very smooth and hydrated.
Moisturizing Face Mask with Mineral Clay
Claims: Moisturizes and refreshes the skin
The mask is white, and smells slightly like sunscreen. The texture is like a soft clay, and it spreads thinly over the skin. I think this one is suitable for those with sensitive skin because it feels very soft, gentle and milky. When I rinsed my face, my skin felt very moisturized and refreshed indeed. I don't get much redness on my face except for around the bottom sides of my nose, and I noticed that it looked a lot less red in that area after this mask.
Warming Foot Balm with Avocado & Sweet Almond Oil
Claims: Warms and Moisturizes feet.
I know this post is called Life Brand Face Masks, but they also do masks for feet and hair! I picked up this one which says:
"Soothe your tired, achy feet with this warming foot balm designed to ease away the stresses of the day. This balm moisturizes and provides a warm sensation to the skin, leaving your feet feeling fresh and rejuvenated."
Unfortunately, this had no warming sensation like it claimed. The directions don't say to rinse it off, so it's like a very intense moisturizer for the feet. I would say to apply a very small amount and really massage it in before going to bed (also wear socks). My feet felt very soft and pampered after using this. I even applied some to my hands and my hands felt incredibly soft. Despite the fact that it doesn't warm up, I think I would still repurchase.
So thats it - since I'll be doing more of these posts, please let me know what you think. Is it better to review two masks at a time or is three too long for a post?
