This is a bit overdue as I bought this in December, however I've had nearly two months to test the products out in this pack! This is the Boscia Japanese Favourites, which is a skincare set of their bestselling products. I believe they sold this only as a holiday set, but the products are all available for individual purchase.
The products in this set are the Luminizing Black Mask, the Thermal Black Cleanser, the Tsubaki Beauty Oil, and theExfoliating Peel Gel. I'll give a quick breakdown of each product and what I thought of them.
The Tsubaki oil ($57 CAD) is a very light oil, and I apply a little bit on my face in the mornings straight after cleansing, followed by my moisturizer. I find this extra step helps my skin stay soft and hydrated in the cold winter winds. It gives a nice radiance to the face and it feels very comfortable, and non greasy. I really like this one because of how well it works in the mornings - usually I only put oils on at night.
The Exfoliating Peel Gel ($42 CAD) is an interesting product from the set. This is peeling gel that visibly removes the dead skin on the surface. It has a very light, almost watery consistency and when you rub it onto your face, it sort of pills up all the dead skin on the surface. While it does get the job done, it was quite annoying at the end to remove because some of the pilling would still be stuck to your skin, so you have to use a towel to completely remove the sticky leftovers... That being said, I would repurchase this because my skin felt wonderful afterwards and it's just so cool and satisfying to watch all the dead skin come off.
The Thermal Black Cleanser ($35 CAD) is one of my favourites discoveries of the set. It is straight up black, and when you rub it into your skin, it warms up. It feels so wonderful and soothing at the end of the day. While I cleanse my face, I kind of end up massaging my face with it because it feels so nice. After I rinse, my skin feels so clean and invigorated because I had essentially just massaged it while cleansing it. This is a good 'un.
Finally, the The Luminizing Black Mask ($42 CAD). You need to apply a thick layer all over your face, and then wait for 30 minutes for it to completely dry. It is a peel-off mask, so to remove it, you find a corner and kind of just peel it off. This part was a bit painful for me - I found it clung onto little baby hairs or peach fuzz. Once off, my skin felt very soft, however, it was red and irritated around the perimeters of the mask where it had pulled at the baby hairs. As for the luminous effect - my skin didn't look that much brighter but pores were tighter. I wouldn't repurchase this due to the pain. Another thing that I didn't like is that it's so thick that it takes a lot of product to cover your whole face. I don't think you would get much bang for your buck if you bought the full-size product.
Have you ever tried these Boscia products or do any of these catch your eye?
