Life Brand face masks are a staple at every Shoppers store. I often wonder why I don't hear or see anything about them on the blogosphere or even Youtube. They have a selection of about 20 different masks and you can buy 3 face masks for 5 dollars [!!!]. With every packet containing enough product for about 3 uses, this is an absolute bargain.
I wanted to start this sort of series on my blog where I try out some of the Life Brand masks since I myself looked all over the internet to find information on them and found little to none.
So, on the menu today:
Revitalizing Peel-off Face Mask: Cucumber & Witch Hazel.
Claims: Cleanses and Revitalizes skin.
This mask looks absolutely clear and feels viscous. It also smells very cucumber-y and fresh. When you put it on, it spreads quite thickly and then takes a good 10 to 15 minutes to dry. When I looked in the mirror, I had the sudden impression that it looks as though I had vacuum sealed plastic wrap all over my face; and it felt like it too. The mask gradually dries enough to be peeled off. And let me tell you, it is so satisfying to peel it off. Once off, my skin felt very, very soft.
Detoxifying Mud Face Mask: Charcoal and Ivy Extract
Claims: Detoxifies & Cleanses pores.
I've never tried a mud mask before, and this mask gave me a great first impression. It has a creamy clay-like consistency and is dark grey in colour. When it dries, it turns light grey.
Two things I noticed with this mask: Firstly, It made a pesky spot on my face feel less painful and look less red. In fact, it looked as
though it had gone down a bit. Secondly, I noticed was that the mud on and around my nose had little darker specks showing through which are in fact from my pores! The mask had clearly absorbed some excess sebum. Once I rinsed off the mask, the skin around my nose definitely looked better and less blackhead-y. I've since used the mask only on my nose area and put a little dot on my pimple and it works great.
Expect another face mask post soon! I think I've started an obsession... Let me know if you've tried any of the Life Brand masks and what you thought. Or, if you have any other recommendations for masks, I'd love to know!
