As you know, I am a big fan of It Cosmetics and their CC Cream. So I was excited to see that they have another CC product in a cushion format!Read More
It is cold. Montreal is a cold af place in the winter. With windchill, temperatures have been under -20 C, even going as low as -30.Read More
Last year, I started making overnight oats and it's become part of my daily routine. If you do not know what overnight oats are, it is basically like preparing oatmeal without cooking it. Instead, you let the oats soak overnight and they will be soft and ready to eat by morning. Now, this was really the only working knowledge I had on overnight oats, and I developed my own little recipe over time.Read More
Happy New Year, everyone, from cold Montreal. I scrapped any new year plans and had a very tame night watching Star Wars due to the temperature with wind chill being -37 C that night. Fuck thaaaaaaat.Read More
Hello it's been a (long) while! I am not a very good blogger. Anyway here is a post.
The holidays are upon us ALREADY and I'm seeing all the festive makeup looks going around. They're all very nice, but everyone seems to be going for warm shades and glitter. I am usually not a big fan of glitter but what other occasion suits glitter better than the holidays? I have one glitter eyeshadow from Bobbi Brown in the shade Silver Lilac #26. It is pure silver sparkle with a lilac shift and it is so gorgeous when it hits the light. I love warm eyeshadows but I thought it would be nice to do something different (and colourful!) and go for a purple-y silver look which would also be nice for New Year's celebrations.
For the base, I smudge MAC's paint pot in Stormy Pink all over the lid with my finger and use a clean brush just to make sure the edges are diffused (working quickly as this sets). It is a cool-toned grey-purple shade that complements the Silver Lilac glitter so nicely. The paint pot also makes for a good long-lasting base. Then I just use my finger to pat on the Silver Lilac glitter on my lid. I use a small brush to smudge some of the Stormy Pink on my lower lash line to make things a bit more dramatic. And that's literally it. Mascara and done.
This is so quick and simple to do but looks like more effort went into it. I think that's the magic of glitter eyeshadow - it makes everything look ***extra*** (those asterisks are supposed to be like sparkles lol).
This photo was super hard to get at the right angle that shows off the eyeshadow well. It doesn't even give the glitter justice. When I'm wearing something this full on, I tend to go for very simple makeup elsewhere on the face - foundation, bronzer, and only lip balm or gloss.
Hope everyone has lovely holidays!
